this was more or less a test to see if i could make this properly.

this is made from pizza boxes, rip-ties, paper towel tube, hot glue, and acrylic paint.

took approx 5 hours (minus drying time)

weighs approx 7-10 lbs

the tube handle is too flimsy. while it can be held with two hands, it would probably fall apart with one.

when i attempt again i want to use foam board. that would be much sturdier!

also, the record moves :3

This is so wonderful *_* I really want to make Caledscratch for my cosplay, but I've never made any props from scratch. I'm soooo nervous ahhhhh.

Yeah I'm gonna have to whip up a prototype or something before I make it for reals. Thanks again for the inspiration!

Real nice, but I seriously doubt that it weight 7 to 10lbs if it's mostly made of cardboard! It would be like gluing 2 bricks together!

But still pretty neat :)

lol i dont' have a scale, i was guestimating. but it really is quite heavy, the handle buckles when i hold it. i suspect the 2 coats of paint saturated the cardboard. but no matter, it IS a prototype. the real one (when i get to it) will be made with sexy sturdy foam-board, oooh yea!
