for .hack//RP
bear with me, i'm copying this out of my BF's notebook. COMMENT IF YOU HAVE IDEAS!
In most cases, a user cannot take a hack from another player unless they have Data Drain. most simple hacks can be looked up on the net, but excess use will flag ones PC and the admins will delete them.
Data Drain - (must be on a weapon) a strike rips away any shred of data from the victim and stores it within the attacker. this is a malicious hack and signals the admins immediately. the victim will become comatose unless they have certain preventative measures (which most regular users do not) Only a select few users have Data Drain to start. but don't worry, it becomes rampantly abused later once guilds get a hold of it!
Invulnerability - essentially the 'protect' from the first set of games where on a hacked enemy, a great deal of damage needed to be dealt before you could 'protect break' and data drain your opponent. ALL hacker players will have this on their armor or be defeated right away.
Weight - equipped items can be marked weightless or of infinite weight. A weight modified weapon becomes locked in place by its original holder. for example, a large heavy weapon can be dropped on an opponent to trap them in place.
Extension - The X/Y/Z ratios of a weapon can be modified. for example, a Lord Partizan can extend their spear and strike an opponent from afar.
Duplication - can create multiple copies of a weapon
AI (alt account needed) - a macro is written and place on an alt account to follow and defend the lead PC. in Misora's case, she made the alt PC invisible, but kept the weapon (a Tome for a Shadow Warlock)
Large Projectile - Creates a wave/wall/grid of a ranged weapon. for example, a Steam Gunner fires once, but 100 bullets fire from a wall in front of him aimed at his opponent.
Teleport - Warp to an area where a weapon lands. For example, a Twin Blade can throw his weapon in leapfrog-like succession to climb walls.
Reflect - Spells and other projectiles bounce back at the caster.
PC Clone - Create a visual copy of ones own PC that can move freely but does not deal damage. typically, this type of clone disappears when struck.
Auto Cast - Cast a spell indefinitely. SP will be drained unless a special hack is implemented for that. (ie: 99x spirit drop + auto drink macro)
Repel - a physical nova that pushes away any NPC or obtrusive environment. (not a spell)
Attract - the opposite of Repel, pulls all npcs towards the caster. (not a spell)
Morph - change the physical look of an item. (rudimentary)
House - Allows user to store items inside of other items. useful for surprise attacks.
Developer's Room - Exclusive to Phyn and The Consultant (for now) these rooms are identical to an @home from .hack//GU but exist outside the game servers where they are save to experiment with hacks. A PC cannot enter the game from this room, they have to piggy-back in on another user's location.
Purge - The Seraphim's (AI admins made by The Consultant) use this to 'purify' hacked characters.
SubNet - The wireframe under-fabric of the game where the base code exists. players cannot physically interact here (or fight) but data can be taken or moved.
//NetSlum - The hacker gateway to the subnet. through this gateway, original area words can be made and once this code is leaked, guilds move their @homes here and operate without admin supervision.
Phase code fragments - OFF LIMITS - The eight phase users as chosen by Morganna are the only players that are able to use their designated phase codes:
- Skeith - weapon strike causes the victim IRL player to feel fear
- Innis - weapon strike causes the victim PC player to become paralyzed while their IRL player is trapped in a fantasy world.
- Magus - after weapon strike she is able to re-create any of victim PC player's data including hacks or an entire AI clone.
- Fidchell - can predict his enemies moves.
- Gorre - weapon strike causes the victim IRL player to feel pain.
- Macha - is able to charm any victim IRL player for control or seduction.
- Tarvos - taunting victim PC player causes victim IRL player to feel rage and attack recklessly or even destroy their computer.
- Corbenik - cannot die, constant revive; deals back any damage dealt to her.
